MTN Launches Its First Ever Digital tv Broadcasting Services in Nigeria.

MTN Nigeria has just launched its first ever fully converged broadcast and OTT-VOD service. Nigerians can now watch TV programs on their Smartphones several other electronic devices via Over-the-Top platforms like WhatsAppMTN Launches Its First Ever Digital tv Broadcasting Services in Nigeria., BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook and Twitter, among others.


Report from Punchng , the Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, Ferdi Moolman - subscribers will have the freedom to watch their favourite programmes when they choose the MTN Video on-Demand service, “rather than having to watch at a specific broadcast time.”

“Once we commence full commercial activities, the TV service will deliver an exciting bouquet of rich local and international content to Nigerians” He said.

This announcement was made at Jos, Nigeria at the event of Digitalization

You will recall that NBC issued MTN with the 700MHz spectrum license which is a digital broadcast license that will allow them to deliver broadcasting services, simultaneously with its core data and voice service delivery business worldwide.

» You will be given 3GB data in some devices and at times, you might see an error message.

» Just ignore the message, your N1000 will be deducted and you will then be credited with the 3gb worth of Internet data. Check your new data balance, by dial *140#.




Now, you have a total of 4GB worth of data plus 1k free airtime with just N1000

Even if you don't change your IMEI, the first 1GB data given to you will work on your device, but if you want to use the 3GB data that you subscribed for, you will have to tweak your IMEI to that of a BB10 device IMEI. Kindly go through this link for the instruction on how to get it done:
